Hi,
I have a few Android devices (Note, Galaxy S II & Desire) that I have removed from the MaaS360 control however I am unable to delete the MaaS360 icon. It will let me move the icon to the trash can but when I go into the application list, it is still there and functional.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
David.

Hi David – if you issued the Remove MaaS360 Control from the Device View Actions in MaaS360 on the device and the action history is showing the action as completed, you should be able to go into Settings -> Applications on the device and remove the application from there with the Uninstall option.
If the device is still under management, I would caution that your corporation may have configured and enforcement action if the app is attempted to be removed which could be anything from a warning to a wipe. Also in this instance you will not be able to remove the app and will get a message that the device is still being managed by MaaS360.
Any questions, let us know.

Hi Val,
I have managed to work out why I could not remove the app. I just copied and pasted the phrase below from an email I sent to one of our customers:
On the device go to SettingsLocation and SecurityDevice
AdministrationSelect Device Administrators. You need to remove the MaaS360 app
from the Device Administrator option on the device. You will then be able to go
to SettingsApplicationsManage Applications and remove the app. This will
delete the app completely from the device.
Is this what you would expect from an Android device?
Thanks,
David

Hi David – this is what I would expect, however just one thing to keep in mind is that MaaS360 is a mobile device management tool for enterprise IT and you should confirm with you corporate IT team (if you are not part of it) as to whether this software is required on the device. If you want the software controls removed they can do it for you. If you try to remove the agent, there may be certain restrictions placed on the device depending on corporate policy, so it’s strongly recommended you contact them first.
